A Vast.ai alternative
Rent an available GPU on nafnaf, keep control of your workload, and compare the final price before you move.
Start with an actual offer
nafnaf is a Swiss GPU marketplace connecting renters with independent providers. New GPU rentals include a 5% consumer fee on the provider's asking rate. The displayed marketplace price already includes it: a $1.00 provider rate becomes $1.05 for the renter.
Compare an available RTX PRO 6000 or another model against a current Vast quote with the same GPU variant, memory, GPU count, and rental type. A lower compute price is useful, but storage, transfer, and the time your job takes determine the total cost.
Our original Vast comparison includes dated examples and explains why an RTX PRO 6000 Max-Q is not interchangeable with an RTX 6000 Ada or an RTX A6000. Historical examples are not current bookable inventory.
Move the workload in five steps
- Record the environment. Save your image, package versions, launch command, mounted paths, required ports, and GPU memory needs. Keep secrets outside the image.
- Export persistent data. Back up datasets, checkpoints, and results before stopping or deleting the old instance. Estimate both providers' transfer charges.
- Choose a compatible nafnaf offer. Check usable VRAM, container RAM, shared CPU limits, disk, location, rental duration, and the final resource rates.
- Run a small test. Verify access, dependencies, a representative computation, and result export. Compare runtime as well as the hourly price.
- Move the remaining work and clean up. Release the old rental only after verifying your backup and new environment. Remove unused storage and revoke credentials you no longer need.
Vast templates and lifecycle settings do not automatically translate to nafnaf. Review environment variables, ports, storage paths, and shutdown behavior rather than copying a provider-specific launch command unchanged.
Rent through an agent, within a budget
nafnaf's agent workflow uses scoped, expiring credentials and explicit rental price and duration limits. Idempotent booking avoids duplicate rentals when an agent retries. The owner funds the account; the agent operates within the authority it receives.
Read the autonomous rental guide for the API and MCP workflow. Do not give workload code your owner credentials or assume that an agent permitted to rent is also permitted to fund an account.
Sometimes you do not need a GPU rental
If your goal is text inference and Qwen Flash-Next fits, try the free Qwen API first. It needs an account and API key but no credit deposit. Shared free capacity may be busy; it is not dedicated hardware or a reserved service level.
Keep a GPU rental when you need your own model, CUDA environment, fine-tuning job, or persistent development workspace.
Choose on fit, not a universal discount
Vast offers on-demand, reserved, and interruptible products. A cheaper interruptible rate is not equivalent to an on-demand quote. Its documentation also explains continuing storage costs and host-dependent bandwidth rates. Vast pricing documentation.
We do not promise that nafnaf is cheaper for every machine. Use current offers and test your workload. For providers considering listing hardware instead, see host earnings and the host setup guide.
